The subjects of this project are to control emission pollution of imported vehicle and to review and revise related regulations. The routine jobs include operating and maintaining the e-verification system to perform the certification and authorization task for imported motor vehicle which includes gasoline、motorcycle and diesel vehicle. The achievements of this project are summarized as below: 1、In 2007, 56,033 applications have been approved which includes 10,539 applications applied by the vehicle model compliance certification and 3498 applications applied by the individual vehicle compliance verification. There are 27 motor vehicles had been practical examined and were complied with the applications. 2、According to the effective guidance, the average number of the rejected applications is down from 0.71% to 0.17%. 3、Completed the enhancement of e-verification system in order to apply new pollution standard and regulations. 4、Designed and implemented a new system, named【EPA Certification Information Management System】, which will integrate emissions testing data and exhaust testing compliance verification of gasoline vehicles, diesel vehicles and motorcycles. Querying and gathering statistics information of emission testing and compliance verification result for EPA will be quite easy through the new system. 5、Facilitate a new examination flow for domestic vehicles, which will base on existing e-verification system framework. The architecture and layout of data transfer has been completed.
